Parkinson’s Care and Therapy for Adults
In-person in San Diego, CA & online across California and Massachusetts
Welcome.
I’m Dr. Elizabeth Torres, a Board-Certified Clinical Psychologist. My work is grounded in presence and clarity, helping people steady themselves in times of change, illness, or transition. In therapy, we focus not only on talking but on the how of finding direction, belonging to yourself, and growing in ways that matter to you. I see my job as holding a safe relationship for you to get clarity, develop skills, and build internal steadiness so you can stay true to yourself while you adapt and grow into who you want to be.
The work of therapy is about connecting with your inherent capacity for adaptation and well-being, and reconnecting with the sources of meaning and vitality that sustain you. Each conversation invites clarity, renewal, and a sense of belonging to your own life.
I offer therapy grounded in clinical expertise, clear presence, and a steady belief in our inherent capacity for healing and growth.
PARKINSON’S SUPPORT
Parkinson's disease is so often approached through a medical and motor-symptom lens — but depression, anxiety, and changes in thinking may affect quality of life even more profoundly, and they're frequently overlooked.
My work focuses on the parts of Parkinson’s that can be harder to see: the emotional, relational, and identity changes that often accompany the disease.
I work with individuals, couples, and care partners: easing anxiety and emotional distress with practical strategies, strengthening communication, addressing intimacy and role shifts, and restoring a sense of steadiness and connection in daily life.
THERAPY FOR ADULTS
I work with adults navigating anxiety, low mood, and the kind of change that asks you to find new footing.
My approach is grounded in clinical expertise and practical, research-backed practice including cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness and acceptance, self-compassion, and body-based techniques.
